Canadian Felix Auger-Aliassime insists Canada has been handed a tough draw and his team will have to bring its best game in order to stand a chance at inaugural Davis Cup Finals. Indeed, Canada won't have an easy job of making it out of Group F as they will be sharing the group with the United States and Italy.
Italy will be led by US Open semifinalist Matteo Berrettini and world No. 12 Fabio Fognini, while the Americans will be hoping their talented group can deliver on the biggest stage. "It’s a strong group, maybe one of the strongest groups alongside Spain, Russia and Croatia (Group B),” Auger-Aliassime told the Davis Cup Finals.
“It’s going to be tough matches from the start, with Matteo Berrettini and Fabio Fognini playing well on the Italian team, they’ve got great players. USA is a pretty strong team – maybe not top, top players, but very strong overall with a great doubles team.
They’re going to be tough to handle." It remains to be seen how far can Canada go at the inaugural Davis Cup Finals event in Madrid next week.
