ITIA, the International Tennis Integrity Agency, released in a statemente that the Romanian tennis player Simona Halep has been suspended for a period of 4 years, following violations of the anti-doping program. The former world No.
1 will be able to appeal to the CAS. The verdict finally arrived, after months of bureaucracy, which left Simona waiting, hoping. Let's be clear: if Simona Halep is guilty, it is right that she pays for her mistakes. But that doesn't mean making the tennis player wait a year for a verdict that never came.
She suffered the consequences of the most grotesque situation of the century: she would have recovered precious time if the disqualification had come earlier. Really ridiculous. Now Simona will have the opportunity to appeal to the CAF, if she wants to try to prove her innocence.
If this isn't the case then it will be really difficult to even think of her back on the court. But then who knows: knowing her warrior mentality, a comeback is not excluded.

Fans' messages for Simona
In recent weeks, many have written messages of support for the tennis player, extolling her resilience and will to never give up.
Among the messages from fans emerge: "We love you Simona, come back to the pitch soon," or even a clearer one: "I am amazed every time by your willpower. Your beautiful smile can push away even the darkest clouds. Thank you for making us part of your story, both on and off the tennis court." Simona responded to many fans, thanking them for their passion and their messages of love.
The tennis player was among the tennis players registered on the Entry List for the US Open 2023 but the verdict on the doping case was slow in arriving and this led the organizers to have to, against their will, exclude the tennis player.
Many journalists and prominent people in the world of tennis have expressed solidarity with Simona and condemned the bureaucratic slowness in this matter. Among these is the Twitter post by journalist José Morgado, who ruled as follows after the controversy over the Romanian: "Halep's independent hearing was in June. Guilty or not, she is provisionally suspended since October, which is absolutely ridiculous."
