The Russian tennis player Andrey Rublev, in an interview with The National newspaper, explained that he would not be surprised to see Rafael Nadal win more Grand Slam tournaments, in the upcoming 2024 tennis season. The Spaniard will come back to the court in Brisbane, almost a year after the injury suffered at the Australian Open.

"I think Rafael Nadal will try until the end, he will try to win Grand Slam tournaments again. He and Novak Djokovic are two tennis players who play to make a mark in the world of tennis; they play for a different reason. We still don't know what level Nadal will be able to express, but many times people have considered him or the Big 3 in general to be finished.

We have heard many times peopole said: The time of Roger Federer, Novak and Rafa is over. But they always proved them wrong. So I wouldn't be surprised if Rafa wins more Slams. Challenges with the Big 3? I have to be realistic and understand that in many aspects they are better than me.

The truth is that if I want to win more matches at this level, where details make the difference, I have to improve a lot," explained the Russian.

Rublev and Big 3

Andrey Rublev managed to beat all of the Big 3 throughout his career.

The Russian defeated Novak Djokovic once in six matches played, in the final of the ATP 250 tournament in Belgrade in 2022, and prevailed against Rafael Nadal in the quarter-finals of the ATP Masters 1000 in Monte Carlo, in 2021.

The victory with Roger Federer instead came in the round of 16 of the Western & Southern Open in 2019, in two sets. About Nadal, the Spaniard will start the season - as I said above - in Brisbane. He then move to Melbourne, to play the Australian Open. is main gol, for 2024, is of course to try to win the Roland Garros and try to get a medal at Paris Olympics 2024.
