Simona Halep will be able to return to play immediately: the CAS has reduced the disqualification to 9 months. The CAS has in fact expressed its opinion on the case of the former WTA No.1, deciding to reduce the disqualification from 4 years to 9 months.

Considering that Simona was stopped in October 2022, she will be able to take her personal revenge by doing what she loves most and return to the court with immediate effect.

The facts date back to the US Open 2022, when the Romanian tested positive for one of the substances prohibited by the regulation: Roxadustat. The International Tennis Integrity Agency had announced that Halep would have to serve a four-year ban.

The independent tribunal established by Sport Resolutions, despite having supported Halep's thesis that it was a contaminated supplement, established that the quantity of substance ingested could not have determined the concentration of Roxadustat found in the positive sample.

The judgment of the CAS was different, which accepted the thesis put forward by Halep on the contamination of the food supplements taken.

"I believe that the truth is about to come out. It was a long discussion, I can say that I had the opportunity to present my defense. I believe that the truth will emerge soon. I can't say more, I will wait for the publication of the sentence and then I will be able to give you more information."

The words spoken by Simona Halep outside the Court of Arbitration for Sport in Lausanne after her appeal against her four-year disqualification for two different violations of the anti-doping regulations have become reality.

Has justice been done? Yes: Simona declared her innocence from the first moment. she shouted out her ignorance of the facts for all these long months, which represented a nightmare for her. But now she can finally embrace the court again. All those who called her a drug addict, doped and dishonest will now have to think again. Simona won.

And atrick Mouratoglou lost. the French coach has lost credibility after this issue. He himself took full responsibility for what happened to Simona. It is therefore right that he is the true loser of this affair.

Kim Clijsters: "Patrick Mouratoglou manipulated Simona Halep"

"The nightmare I lived for a year and a half is over. I can tell you that this hearing gave me the opportunity to present my defense. My confidence is intact, it will be proven that I never intended to dope. I truly believe that the truth will come out and that the day of my return to the field will come soon."

These were the words of Simona Halep, before today's final sentence arrived, which allowed the Romanian to return to the court immediately.

The Romanian tennis player tried in every way to assert her rights, explaining during the trial that she had taken a prohibited substance unconsciously and involuntarily.

Before the definitive response on this matter arrived, Kim Clijsters, who lashed out harshly against Patrick Mouratoglou, who she considers to be the main person responsible for the situation in which the Romanian finds herself.

During Andy Roddick's podcast, the former Belgian champion explained: "For me the biggest red flag is the team. I can't believe that there are no consequences for the team, but only for the athlete. It was her team that suggested taking that supplement, taking it without any hesitation.

You should trust your team, you should trust the people around you. You think they're going to do the right thing, that they're doing the right thing... and this is what ends up happening to them. For me it's a case of manipulation.

A situation, especially in the case of a woman, in which coaches take responsibility for... it's manipulation, I can't find another word for it, for them to take control of everything that happens around an athlete."
