The Ladies Singles at the Wimbledon Championships is decidedly more interesting than the men's tournament. If among the men the attention is focused on Novak Djokovic's presence and on the Carlos Alcaraz-Jannik SInner rivalry, the women's tournament, always unpredictable, will have all the biggest stars to give us a fortnight of emotions.

Iga Swiatek, after a long and exhausting season on clay courts, would like to try to demonstrate her worth even on a surface that is not very congenial to her. What can undermine the excessive power of WTA No.1, also the victim of a horror draw?

Not much to say: in my opinion the favorite is Aryna Sabalenka, but, as always happens at Wimbledon, the court will give us the final verdict. The Belarusian, on the fast surface, has many more weapons than her rivals, but the abundance of contenders for the women's title is the greatest source of interest in this edition of the Championships. Swiatek, Sabalenka, but also Elena Rybakina, Ons Jabeur, Coco Gauff, Naomi Osaka, the returning Emma Raducanu.

The obstacles for Swiatek, never beyond the quarter-finals in London, are certainly represented by the reigning champion Marketa Vondrousova and Elena Rybakina. The American Sofia Kenin will be in her first round: in the same quarter, Angelique Kerber, Caroline Garcia and Danielle Collins.

Leylah Fernandez or Caroline Wozniacki, however, for Elena Rybakina, and already in the third round, with a possible round of 16 final with Anna Kalinskaya. The Kazakh could then cross paths with Jessica Pegula or Elina Svitolina.
Coco Gauff commands the bottom half with the second seed. Jasmine Paolini, finalist at Roland Garros, caught the Spanish Sorribes Tormo.

The most interesting matches of the first round are extremely close in the main draw: Paula Badosa who will face the returning Karolina Muchova and Mirra Andreeva who will have to deal with her 17 year old peer Brenda Fruhvirtova.
Naomi Osaka will be the one who could undermine all the suitors. At the French Open we saw glimpses of the real Osaka. At Wimbledon, on a fast surface, she could be the real threat for all her opponents. Difficult first round for Emma Raducanu, who will challenge Ekaterina Alexandrova. Emina Bektas will be Sabalenka's rival, who ended up in the same semi-final as she could face Qinwen Zheng or Coco Gauff. What a tournament!
