It's official: Bianca Andreescu is predestined, who has the chance to become the future queen of women's tennis. But the Canadian, like all her peers, will have to pay attention to what is a common enemy of many young stars: the pressure management.
Despite this, the 18-year-old star exploded in the early months of 2019. Hers was rapid growth, with visible improvements from every point of view: athletic, technical, fiscal and tactical. A brilliant start of the year which led her to achieve memorable achievements.
Her season began in Auckland, where she has incredibly reached the final, lost against Julia Goerges. However, during the tournament, she defeated rivals such as Venus Williams and Caroline Wozniacki. At the Australian Open, she brilliantly passed the qualifying tournament, before being eliminated in the second round by Anastasja Sevastova.
On January 27th, 2019, she won the WTA 125k Oracle Challenger Series - Newport Beach, beating Jessica Pegula in the final and defeating Eugenie Bouchard during the event. Her season continued positively in Acapulco, where she reached the semi-finals, losing to Sofia Kenin.
In Indian Wells, she made the masterpiece of her young career: the victory in the final against Angelique Kerber, defeating during the way opponents like Dominika Cibulkova, Qiang Wang, Garbine Muguruza and Elina Svitolina.
At the Miami Open, she retired in the fourth round against Anett Kontaveit. These victories and amazing results may have given the WTA Tour a new big star. Equipped with fantastic and aggressive tennis, Andreescu has a very strong personality, great ambitions and, at her young age, and winning and balanced mentality.
She herself said that practicing meditation also helps her during training and tournaments. Andreescu will have the best opportunity from every point of view, given that she is now only 18 years old. But the basis of her tennis are already very important.
