Ashleigh Barty will meet the Karolina Pliskova in the Miami Open women's final, second Premier Mandatory of the season which is being played on the hard courts of Miami, in Florida. The two have reached this final after some consistent performance throughout the entire tournaments, defeating some of the opponents who had been accredited for the final victory.
But, as we know, Barty and Pliskova, with their attacking game, are two players who are at ease on hard-courts, thanks also to their technical and physical skills; so, we can say that this final it is not a real surprise.
The Australian, seed no. 12 (From Monday, April 1st, she will break the Top-10 of the women's ranking - ed.), eliminated opponents such as Dayana Yastremska, Samanta Stosur, Kiki Bertens, Petra Kvitova and Anett Kontaveit along the way to the final.
Pliskova, seed no. 5, eliminated rivals like Petra Martic, Alize Cornet, Yulia Putintseva, Marketa Vondrusova and Simona Halep. Both the players arrive at this final in excellent athletic and psychological conditions. The final will be balanced, with two players having an attacking game; Pliskova will have to rely on service and forehand, Barty, in addition to service and forehand, also to her lateral and forward movements, which could make the difference in the match.
Experience, at this level, is instead a factor to the advantage of the Czech. Emotion and solidity will be other decisive factors, even here perhaps with Pliskova slightly ahead. In this season Barty played and lost the Sydney final against Petra Kvitova (in career she won 3 titles in 7 finals played).
Pliskova, in 2019, has already played and won the Brisbane final against Lesia Tsurenko (total: 12 titles won, 11 finals lost). In the head-to-head, they are even: 2-2. MIAMI OPEN, WOMEN'S SINGLES - WINNER PREDICTION: Ashleigh Barty 49% - Karolina Pliskova 51%
