French Open day 10 recap: finally the Fedalbowl, and...

It was the day of the first quarter-finals at the French Open 2019 and, finally, we could finally see the next page of the Fedalbowl (yes, we took it from Cleganebowl), the rivalry between Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal, who will be face-to-face for the thirty-ninth time.

Johanna Konta also played in the semifinals, for the first time in Paris. The defeat of Stan Wawrinka in the quarterfinals against Federer allowed Fabio Fognini to enter for the first time in his career in the top-10 of the ATP Ranking.

After Adriano Panatta and Corrado Barazzutti, Fabio is the third Italian to enter the top ten of the men's tennis. Anna Tatishvili received a fine from the International Tennis Federation of € 46,000 because, according to them, she would not have respected the rules of correctness and professional standards, accused by the ITF of lacking commitment during her second round match in Paris against Maria Sakkari, lost by 6-0 6-1.

Eventually, the official arrived just during Roland Garros: from 2020 the Fed Cup will have the same format of the Davis Cup. There will be at least 16 nations participating in the final phase plus some from a qualifying phase.

The final phase, like this year in for men, will be based in Madrid, Spain. Tomorrow the semi-finals will be completed: Novak Djokovic, Alexander Zveerv, Dominic Thiem and Simona Halep will take the court.
