2019 tennis season is reaching its peak, which will arrive in the Wimbledon fortnight, but in the meantime, the grass-season is enhanced with the come back of three of its jewels on the courts: Roger Federer, Andy Murray and Maria Sharapova.
There will be four tournaments this week (17-23 June 2019). Men's will play at the Gerry Weber Open (Halle, in Germany, ATP 500) and the Queen's Club Championships (London, United Kingdom, ATP 500). In Germany there will be Roger Federer, winner nine times of the title.
With him Alexander Zverev, Dominic Thiem, Karen Khachanov, Borna Coric, Gael Monfils, David Goffin and Richard Gasquet. In London there should be the long awaited come back of Andy Murray, in the doubles tournament, along Feliciano Lopez.
In the men's singles the protagonists will be Stefanos Tsitsipas, Kevin Anderson, Juan Martin del Potro, Stefanos Tsitsipas, Milos Raonic, Marin Cilic, Denis Shapovalov, Daniil Medvedev, Stan Wawrinka , Nick Kyrgios and Grigor Dimitrov, with the possible come back of Tomas Berdych.
The girls will play the Birmingham Classic, (Birmingham, United Kingdom, WTA Premier) and the Mallorca Open (Mallorca, Spain, WTA International). In England there will be the world no. 1 Naomi Osaka, Ashleigh Barty, fresh winner of Roland Garros, Elina Svitolia, Karolina Pliskova, Venus Willaims and Aryna Sabalenka.
In Mallorca there should be the long awaited return of Maria Sharapova. Angelique Kerber will lead the seeding, and there will also be Belinda Bencic, Andrea Petkovic, Sofia Kenin, Carolin Garcia, Victoria Azarenka and Amanda Anisimova.
There will also be five Challenger tournaments: in Ilkley (United Kingdom, on grass-courts), in Bratislava (Slovakia, on clay-courts), in Fergana (Uzbekistan, on hard-courts), in Blois (France, on clay-courts ) and in Parma (Italy, on clay-courts).
