US Open women's final preview: Williams and Andreescu for crown and history

All or nothing in only a night: this will be the women's singles final at the US Open 2019. Bianca Andreescu, the biggest promise of women's tennis, will challenge Serena Williams. The Canadian is the new star, the American is the experience of the champion.

If Williams wins the match she will finally crown the much-dreamed record, which today is at only one Major to the Margaret Smith's 24 titles. Andreescu this year has already made it clear to everyone that she will be the real dominator of women's tennis in the next future, if there will be no new physical problems on her way.

It will be a balanced and delicate match for both, but for Serena this is the most important occasion since she came back from motherhoo. Much more than in the previous three Slam finals played. Andreescu will be an uncomfortable opponent for her, but the American has the experience to win Major, whili for Andreescu this will be her first Slam-final.

Andreescu reached the final in Flushing Meadows by beating opponents like Kirsten Flipkens, Caroline Wozniacki, Taylor Townsend, Elise Mertens and Belinda Bencic. Serena has overtaken rivals such as Maria Sharapova, Petra Martic, Qiang Wang and Elina Svitolina.

There is only one head-to-head between the two players: the final of the Rogers Cup won by the Canadian after Serena's withdrawal. Serena arrives at this final fresher and more rested than her opponent. Indeed Andreescu in the last three challenges wasted more energy.

Serena has experience, strength and perhaps more energy than her rival on her side. If she will be able to manage physical and pressure, then she can finally crown her much-dreamed record. Serena itself knows that this could be the last real opportunity to achieve this historical milestone.

The young Canadian will have her chances of victory. She has already shown sha has all the skills to beat anyone, both of Old Gen and of Next Gen. Both play aggressive tennis, so we expect a great match. Will Andreescu be able to manage the pressure of such an important event and become US Open champion?
