FED CUP: USA, Czech Republic, Switzerland and Belarus reach the semifinals!

Czech Republic has qualified for the semi-finals of the Fed Cup for the ninth consecutive time. The Czech players, the first in the ranking for nation, and winners of the last three editions, won the challenge agaist Spain thanks to the great performance of Karolina Pliskova against Garbine Muguruza.

The finalist of the US Open in 2016 ended in just 62 minutes, with a double 6-2. Then the victory also for Barbora Strycova against Lara Arruabarrena, for 6-4 6-4. Despite the absence of Vika Azarenka, Belarus gets the pass for the semifinals, defeating Netherlands at the end of a great challenge.

The difference was made by the success of Aliaksandra Sasnovich against Kiki Bertens, who won with the score of 6-3 6-4. The point of the 3-1 has been achieved by the young Aryna Sabalenka, who won in two partial for 7-6(5) 6-4 against Michaella Krajicek.

Belarus will face Switzerland in the semifinals in April. The Helvetic players defeated France thanks to victories of Belinda Bencic against Pauline Parmentier (who has replaced the cornet in the fourth singular) withthe final result of 6-3 6-4, and Timea Bacsinszky, who beat Kristina Mladenovic after a battle of three hours and twenty minutes, ended with the final score of 7-6 (5) 4-6 7-5.

Coco Vandeweghe took advantage of the withdrawal of Julia Goerges, on the score of 6-3 3-1 in favor of the American tennis player. The semi-finalist of the last edition of the Australian Open defeated in the following match Andrea Petkovic, After three amazing sets.
