Naomi Osaka is a fantastic tennis player, both on the court and off the court, with her social battles: her voice always promotes fundamental themes, such as social inclusion, the fight against racism and against any discrimination.
Therefore she, who is always ready to raise awareness on complex topics such as depression, should always be supported. But her haters about her, unfortunately about her, think differently. The young Japanese star is, in fact, the most hated and insulted tennis player on social media, especially on Twitter.
Naomi received 32415 negative tweets. Most of these were chirped after her retirement from the 2021 French Open, when she announced to the world that she was suffering from depression. These numbers are the result of a study conducted by Pickwise and concerning 2021 and Twitter.
In second place in this horrendous ranking is the American Serena Williams with 18118 negative tweets, in third place the Scottish player Andy Murray with 11732.
Also the Big 3 among the most hated player on Twitter
There are also the Big 3 in this particular ranking.
And the first of them is there is world no.1 Novak Djokovic, with 8439 negative tweets. It must be said, however, that, being a 2021 study, it does not take into account everything that happened on the eve of the Australian Open 2022...
Roger Federer is in sixth place. The Swiss Maestro received 4261 offensive Tweets in 2021, notably placed after retiring at Wimbledon and after announcing that he would be back in late summer 2022. Australian Open 2022 champion Rafael Nadal is eighth in this particular rank, with 3588.
Rafa seems the least hated champion, least targeted by the ravenous hordes of haters, who are sadly granted the privilege of being able to write whatever they want on social media. Nadal now leads the Slam race, with 21 Slams, ahead of Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic, at 21 Majors.
Among the women's, Serena Williams is still looking for her 24th Slam, while Naomi Osaka has won 4 Majors (2 Australian Open, 2 tiles the US Open).
