Carlos Alcaraz's crazy numbers: better than Roger Federer

Carlos Alcaraz continues to impress for the level he expresses in the matches played, which allows him not only to win important tournaments, but also to climb the ranking. As for the trophies, there are already four that he has posted on the bulletin board: two ATP 500, Rio and Barcelona, and two Masters 1000 (Miami and Madrid).

The Spanish number two has lost only one final this season: in Hamburg, Lorenzo Musetti won in three sets, winning his first career ATP title. Despite the defeat, however, comes the joy for the Spaniard, who has reached the new best ranking: new number 5 and first entry into the top-5 of the ranking.

With this new goal, the Spanish number two has set a new record: he is the eighth youngest player to reach the top 5 in the world rankings. In front of him there are many former world number ones: from Andre Agassi to Boris Becker, from Björn Borg to compatriot Rafael Nadal.

The Spaniard, however, surpasses the other two members of the Big 3: Novak Djokovic entered the top 5 at 19 years and 11 months, Roger Federer at 21 years and 5 months; of the top-10 of the youngest, however, surpassed Jimmy Arias and Andrei Medvedev.

Alcaraz's words on the top-5 Carlos Alcaraz, therefore, is the new number 5 in the world: he overtakes Casper Ruud, winner on clay in Gstaad, and is positioned behind Daniil Medvedev, Alexander Zverev and Rafael Nadal, still number one in Spain.

Interviewed by the ATP Tour, the winner of two Masters 1000 talked about entering the top-5 of the ranking and how important this result is, however specifying that his real goal is another. Carlos explained: "It means a lot.

The hard work I put in every day to reach my dreams, being number 1, and slowly I am reaching my dream. The top five for me is really amazing and I will continue to work to be No. 1."
