Here is the tennis format at Paris Olympics 2024

News comes from Paris and does not concern the Roland Garros. Indeed, the French capital will host the next Olympic Games, which will be held from 26 July to 11 August 2024. About the tennis tournament to be held in the next Olympics some information has been revealed.

As revealed by the Games' Twitter account, the five tennis tournaments will take place over ten days, from July 27 to August 4: men's singles, women's singles, men's doubles, women's doubles and mixed doubles. The surface, on the other hand, could not fail to be the most famous in the history of tennis: the Roland Garros facility will host the Olympic Games in Paris.

An edition of the Games on red clay has not been played since Barcelona 1992: the remaining editions have featured concrete and grass in London. The last doubt to be resolved was how many sets were played at the Olympics: will the men's tournament be played in the best of three or in the best of five? The latter was the formula that has always been adopted in the history of tennis at the Olympic Games, with the exception of the last edition, where the tournaments were played in the best of three.

Also from the Paris 2024 Twitter account, there seems to be another novelty.

The latest news

In the tournament ticket purchase link, it is clear that the men's tennis tournament of the Paris 2024 Olympics will be played in the best of three.

News had leaked that the entire tournament would be played to the best of three sets, while the final to the best of five. The Olympics website, however, reports that the final will also be played as a best-of-three. Officials on the format have not yet arrived, except for a confirmation that Tennis Actu has received from ITF by email.

In Paris, it will be the task of Alexander Zverev for the men and Belinda Bencic for the women to defend the Olympic medal won in Tokyo, in the one-year postponed edition of the Olympic Games. Like London in 2012, also Paris and the Roland Garros Stadium will host an Olympic Game.
