Sharapova to Extend Sugarpova to Home Goods Sleep and Loungewear

Tennis - Russian supernova Maria Sharapova will be adding chocolate to her 'Sugarpova' range of candy, with the new flavour expected to hit stores by May in time for the French Open, the only Slam that she has won twice in her career.

And the Russian is not satisfied with that. She wants to expand the brand to home goods, sleep and loungewear, as per Forbes magazine. Sharapova, the highest earning female athlete of all time, started the company with an invetsment of half-a-million dollars in 2008 and the brand managed to sell more than 15 million bags of candy last year.

In the interview to Forbes, Max Eisenbud, her long-time agent, says, "We’re building for when her career is over.

The plan is to turn Sugarpova into a lifestyle brand,” which may also sell home goods, sleep and loungewear. It was fun taste testing everything." Sharapova was beaten in the quarter finals of the Australian Open in Melbourne by long time nemesis Serena Williams, who has now beaten her 18 times in a row dating back to 2004.
