Maria Sharapova may be granted Wild Card at French Open!

French Open organizers have not ruled out that Russian tennis star Maria Sharapova might be handed a wild card to participate in the Grand Slam event in France next year, Roland Garros press service told Russian News Agency Tass.

“The list of wild cards is decided 15 days before the tournament; we have time to think about it,” the press service announced to TASS. Sharapova has been serving a two-year suspension for the violation of anti-doping regulations since January 26.

However, the Swiss-based Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) reduced Sharapova’s suspension term from 24 to 15 months. However she would not be able to compete in Stuttgart which is scheduled to begin on 24th April meanwhile she can’t play till 25th April.
