Maria Sharapova was denied a wild card to play Roland Garros, but the Russian player wants to be even more motivated to reach higher results in the future after not competing for 15 months. 'If this is what it takes to rise up again, then I am in it all the way, everyday', the Russian player tweeted a day after the decision taken by the organizers of the second Major event of the season.
'No words, games or actions will ever stop me from reaching my own dreams. And I have many.' After retiring in the third set against Mirjana Lucic Baroni in Rome, Sharapova, who is suffering a left thigh injury, declared through a statement: 'I apologize for having to withdraw from my match today with a left thigh injury', wrote Sharapova, who didn't have press conference.
'I will be getting all the necessary examinations to make sure it's not serious. I want to thank the tournament for giving me the opportunity to play in this special event again.'
