World No. 1 Novak Djokovic has announced that he has become the ambassador for Swiss watch brand Hublot. "Proud to announce I’ve joined the Hublot family. Let the adventure begin," Djokovic announced in a Twitter post.
Just a couple of days earlier, Lacoste renewed its partnership with Djokovic through 2025.
"Novak is not only an exceptional athlete but also one of those great champions who has a wonderful spirit both on and off the court,” said Lacoste CEO, Thierry Guibert, in a release. “Our meeting in 2017 was a real coup de coeur.
His audacity, tenacity and kindness impressed me and I am proud that we can continue our common adventure together and accompany him in his new challenges”.
Djokovic sets his eyes on the US Open title
Djokovic has had a huge 2021 season, winning the Australian Open, French Open and Wimbledon.
By winning the US Open, Djokovic would complete a Calendar Grand Slam. Djokovic is the top-seeded player in the US Open main draw and the top favorite to win it all at Flushing Meadows. Djokovic acknowledged that winning all four Majors in 2021 would be his greatest achievement.
"I think it’s an easy question, yes, it would be,” Djokovic said when asked if winning all four majors in 2021 would be his greatest achievement. “Obviously I know how big of an opportunity is in front of me here in New York where historically I’ve played really well over the years.
It’s probably the most entertaining tennis court that we have. Crowd will be back [in the] stadium. “I can’t wait. Honestly, I’m very motivated to play my best tennis. But I have to hit one ball at a time, as they say, try to be in the moment, have a guiding star in a way, a dream to win a slam here which would obviously complete the calendar slam. “I’m hugely inspired and motivated by that, no doubt."
