World No. 1 Novak Djokovic visited Sarajevo and then went to visit the Bosnian Pyramid of the Sun in Visoko. Last year, Djokovic visited the Bosnian pyramids on several occasions. Semir Osmanagic, the founder of the pyramids, claims that pyramids have magical healing powers.

The European Association of Archaeologists has said that the Bosnian pyramid theory is not based on genuine science and has repeatedly criticized Osmanagic's work since then. After last year's Adria Tour controversy, Djokovic went to Visoko to find peace.

Djokovic failed to win the 21st Grand Slam and capture a Calendar Grand Slam after losing to Daniil Medvedev in the US Open final. After the final, Djokovic acknowledged that the tennis transition is happening in front of our eyes.

"I think it has already started in some way, with Dominic Thiem winning here last year. Daniil, I don't know if he is No. 1 now or if he will be No. 1 soon. Look, that's normal. The transition was inevitable," said Djokovic. "The older guys are still holding on.

We are still trying to shed as much light on the tennis world as we can. I speak in my own name. I still want to move on, try to win more slams, play for my country. Those are the things that motivate me the most, I think right now.

But the new generation, if you want to call them that, is nobody new."

Dominic Thiem reflects on Novak Djokovic

Due to a wrist injury, Dominic Thiem could not defend his only Grand Slam title at the US Open 2021. However, like millions of fans around the world, he, too, saw the final between Novak Djokovic and Daniil Medvedev.

And although the fan-favorite Serbian lost that match, Thiem lauded his incredible journey to the final. “We saw what was going on inside him; also what he had accumulated in the last weeks and months. That is simply inhuman,” Thiem said.

Despite the loss, the crowd cheered for the Serbian until the very last point. Later on, he admitted during the trophy ceremony that he had never felt so much love. Furthermore, Dominic Thiem talked about on the enormous love Djokovic received in New York.

“I don’t know him that well, but I think he has a really good heart and has deserved the love of the whole audience here,” Thiem said. “We don’t need to talk about his sporting achievements anyway”.

As a consequence of the loss, Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, and Novak Djokovic remain tied at 20 Grand Slams each. The race to 21 will resume next year between the ‘Big 3’.
