Novak Djokovic's wallet taken, spotted insects in his room where he was placed

20-time Grand Slam champion Novak Djokovic's request to spend his quarantine period in a rented apartment with his team has been denied. Also, Djokovic's wallet and his personal belongings are still at the Melbourne Airport.

After spending nine hours at the Melbourne Airport before being told that his visa was cancelled and to leave the country, Djokovic was transported to a quarantine hotel in Carlton. Per Sasa Ozmo, Djokovic spotted insects in his room.

'Djokovic is not above the rules'

Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison took to Twitter last night to confirm Djokovic's visa was cancelled.

"Mr Djokovic’s visa has been cancelled. Rules are rules, especially when it comes to our borders. No one is above these rules. Our strong border policies have been critical to Australia having one of the lowest death rates in the world from COVID, we are continuing to be vigilant," Morrison tweeted.

Djokovic's father Srdjan blasted Australian authorities following their decision. "It's a shameful decision. Deportation. All of us need to go out and welcome him [when he comes back]. I can’t talk to my son; they present him as a criminal.

I'm lost for words for all what they have done to him," Srdjan told Blic. Before Djokovic was told his visa was cancelled, Serbian president Aleksandar Vucic tried to take action. "Just got off the phone with with Novak Djokovic.

I told our Novak that the whole Serbia is with him, and that our authorities are taking all measures to stop the harassment of the best tennis player in the world in the shortest possible period. In accordance with all the norms of international public law, Serbia will fight for Novak Djokovic, for justice and truth.

Otherwise, Novak is strong, as we all know him," Vucic said in an Instagram post. Djokovic has appealed the decision and he will stay in Melbourne until at least Monday.
