Djordje Djokovic’s girlfriend: Novak, truth always finds its way

Djordje Djokovic’s girlfriend, Saska Vaselinov, believes Novak will come out of this challenging situation “even stronger”. On Tuesday, Djokovic announced he was granted a medical exemption for the Australian Open.

After landing in Melbourne, Djokovic was detained at the airport for hours before he was told his visa cancelled. Djokovic’s was then transported to an immigration hotel as he is awaiting his court hearing — scheduled for Monday.

“Truth always finds its way. We believe that you'll come out of this situation even stronger, and for us you're already the winner. You daily teach us with your actions,” Vaselinov said in an Instagram post.

‘They put Djokovic in a dirty room’

Djokovic’s brother, Djordje, ripped the Australian authorities for treating Novak like he’s a “criminal”.

“He was taken to a migrant hotel to a dirty room without any belongings, which he was told would be returned to him upon his return to Europe,” Djordje said, per Gaspar Ribeiro Lanca. “He was treated like a criminal while he is a healthy and decent man and a sportsman who has not endangered anyone’s life and has not committed any federal or legal offence”.

Meanwhile, Djokovic’s father, Srdjan, said Novak is in prison — not in detention as the Australian authorities claim. “Novak and his team filed the same type of documents as those 25 other tennis players and they didn't have any problems, just Novak.

They wanted to humiliate him,” Srdjan said, per Sky Sports. “He's not in detention, he's in prison. They took all of his stuff, even his wallet. They left him with just a phone and no change of clothes, nowhere to wash his face.

He's in prison, our pride is a prisoner of these idiots”. It remains to be seen if 20-time Grand Slam champion Djokovic will get a chance to break the all-time Grand Slam record at the Australian Open.
