Nick Kyrgios: I honestly want Novak Djokovic to f------ win Australian Open

Australia's Nick Kyrgios didn't appear to be too happy with how Rafael Nadal and Stefanos Tsitsipas reacted when asked about the Novak Djokovic visa drama. Nadal said no player is bigger than the tournament, while Tsitsipas claimed Djokovic was making vaccinated players look like fools.

"It pisses me, it actually pisses me off like how Tsitsipas and Nadal and stuff are all - obviously everyone's got their opinion and that's fine," Kyrgios said on his No Boundaries Podcast, as quoted on Sportskeeda. "Like I understand that Nadal, Tsitsipas all have to speak about it when asked.

But I feel like you were only treating him like Novak Djokovic, not like a human."

Kyrgios came to the defence of Djokovic

"Imagine how he's feeling," Kyrgios added. "He probably just wants a little support now from other players.

He's getting it from me, what the f***." Kyrgios, who was critical of Djokovic in the past, revealed he would like the Serb to win the Australian Open. "I honestly want him to f****** win the event. Would be f****** awesome bro," Kyrgios said.

"I want to walk around in f****** Melbourne Park with my idemo shirt, you already know that. I want to walk around with Novak's mask on my face." After Kyrgios publicly showed support for Djokovic, the world No. 1 reached out to the Australia on Instagram.

"For people who don't know - Novak has reached out to me personally over Instagram, saying 'thank you for standing up for me.' I was not the one that he was expecting to go out in the media and have his back," Kyrgios said.

Also, Kyrgios revealed he received some hate messages from fans following his comments on Djokovic. "Someone could say something nice about him and then not even be aired. Like that's how the media works, they just want to like make things such a s***storm," Kyrgios continued.
