NBA star Nikola Vucevic blasts Australia's treatment of Novak Djokovic

NBA star Nikola Vucevic absolutely believes the Novak Djokovic visa cancelation was a politically motivated move. On Friday, Immigration Minister Alex Hawke exercised his power to cancel the visa of Djokovic. Djokovic appealed the decision but lost his Australia visa appeal.

After losing his appeal, Djokovic was deported from Australia. "What happened to Djokovic is just politicians using their power to show off and get extra followers. It has nothing to do with Covid or visa issues, they used him to try to make themselves look better.

Very sad how they treated a First Class Champion!" Vucevic tweeted. "Also to me the saddest thing in this whole Djokovic thing was that only two of his colleagues stood by his side, everyone else got scared…unbelievable."

Djokovic accepted the court's decision

After losing his case, Djokovic accepted it and left the country.

"I would like to make a brief statement to address the outcome's of today's Court hearing, I will now be taking some time to rest and recuperate, before making any further comments beyond this," Djokovic said in a statement.

"I'm extremely disappointed with the Court ruling to discuss my application for judicial review of the Minister's decision to cancel my visa, which means I cannot stay in Australia and participate in the Australian Open.

"I respect the Court's ruling and I will cooperate with the relevant authorities in relation to my departure from the country. "I'm uncomfortable that the focus of the past weeks has been on me and I hope that we can all now focus on the game and tournament I love, I would like to wish the players, tournament officials, staff, volunteers and fans all the best for the tournament.

"Finally, I would like to thank my family, friends, team, supporters, fans and my fellow Serbians for your continued support. You have all been a great source of strength for me."
