Reilly Opelka speaks on his relationship with Novak Djokovic

World No. 29 Reilly Opelka has nothing but good to say of Novak Djokovic as he thinks most of players on tour have a good relationship with the world No. 1. After beating Dominik Koepfer in the Australian Open second round, Opelka was asked about Djokovic.

"I have always had a good relationship with Novak. Not close, but we have exchanged some text messages a couple of times. He is very friendly toward others. I think most of us on tour have a good relationship with him. I really can't say anything bad about him.

It's always nice to speak with him and he is always happy whenever I meet him," Opelka said of Djokovic, as quoted on Sport Klub.

Opelka defended Djokovic

A couple of days ago, Opelka saw a tweet that was bashing Djokovic: "Should have got vaccinated then.

It's. Not. That. Hard." Opelka responded to the tweet: "What else wasn’t that hard for Novak was staying on the practice court for an extra hour back in 2008 at Cincinnati masters to sign EVERY single kids ball. Me being one of them.

He has done plenty of great things for the sport too ya know." After losing his Australia visa appeal on Sunday, Djokovic left Australia and returned to Serbia. "I would like to make a brief statement to address the outcome's of today's Court hearing, I will now be taking some time to rest and recuperate, before making any further comments beyond this," Djokovic said in a statement.

"I'm extremely disappointed with the Court ruling to discuss my application for judicial review of the Minister's decision to cancel my visa, which means I cannot stay in Australia and participate in the Australian Open.

"I respect the Court's ruling and I will cooperate with the relevant authorities in relation to my departure from the country."
