Novak Djokovic's sponsor Hublot: We value personal freedom

Hublot CEO Ricardo Guadalupe has made his first public comments on Novak Djokovic following the Djokovic visa debacle in Australia. Guadalupe said Hublot is of a belief that the vaccination is a personal choice and they "value personal freedom."

"We are waiting to see what his position is with regard to all that he went through," Guadalupe told Reuters. "The principle of vaccines is that it's something private. We value personal freedom. Everyone can decide.

One can be in favour or against. That's our position." Djokovic was deported from Australia just the day before the start of the Australian Open. Djokovic refused to get vaccinated before the start of the Australian Open but flew to Australia after being granted a medical exemption for the tournament.

Djokovic is expected to make a statement after the Australian Open ends. "We will define our position then," Guadalupe said.

Djokovic accepted the court's decision

After losing his Australia visa appeal, Djokovic released a statement.
"I would like to make a brief statement to address the outcome's of today's Court hearing, I will now be taking some time to rest and recuperate, before making any further comments beyond this," Djokovic said in a statement.

"I'm extremely disappointed with the Court ruling to discuss my application for judicial review of the Minister's decision to cancel my visa, which means I cannot stay in Australia and participate in the Australian Open.

"I respect the Court's ruling and I will cooperate with the relevant authorities in relation to my departure from the country. "I'm uncomfortable that the focus of the past weeks has been on me and I hope that we can all now focus on the game and tournament I love, I would like to wish the players, tournament officials, staff, volunteers and fans all the best for the tournament.

"Finally, I would like to thank my family, friends, team, supporters, fans and my fellow Serbians for your continued support. You have all been a great source of strength for me."
