Novak Djokovic speaks on his relationship with AC Milan striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic

World No. 1 Novak Djokovic reveals he is an AC Milan fan and he has a good relationship with their striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic. Djokovic and Ibrahimovic have a great relationship and a great respect for each other. Ibrahimovic was one of the athletes that came out and publicly supported Djokovic during the Australia visa debacle.

"I’m a fan of Milan. Hopefully we can see Ibrahimovic back on the field. I know he’s injured. He’s doing his recovery now and rehab. Hopefully we can win the scudetto this year," Djokovic said. “I’m in touch with Zlatan not all the time, but quite regularly.

Let’s say we chat. We’ve known each other for more than 10, 15 years actually. Of course I’m a fan of his. “Of course, everything he has achieved. We speak the same language, so of course we feel even closer to each other.

“We [Novak and Ibrahimovic] have texted a little bit since obviously the Australian situation. He has given me support publicly, as well, which I very much appreciate”.

Some thought Djokovic would change his mind and take the vaccine after the Australia visa debacle but the Serb is sticking to his principles and beliefs.

Djokovic has publicly said that he is willing to skip tournaments that require its participants to be vaccinated. Djokovic plans to play whenever he is allowed to compete. "Wherever I have an opportunity, I'll be using that opportunity and going to play because that's what I do, that's what I love to do.

I have support from my family. My team is still there with me," Djokovic said. "It's important for me because obviously it wasn't easy for anyone in my surroundings to go through these kinds of circumstances and situations that we have all been through."
