Stefanos Tsitsipas compares Novak Djokovic to Formula 1 car

Greek tennis star Stefanos Tsitsipas compared Novak Djokovic a Formula 1 car as he noted that the Serb always pays extra attention to every detail. Djokovic didn't enjoy a strong start to the clay season but found his game in Rome to win his first title of the season.

Not only that Djokovic won Rome, he looked like his usual self and that's a promising sign ahead of the French Open. Tsitsipas, who started his clay season by winning Monte Carlo, suffered a straight-set defeat in the Rome final as Djokovic handed him a 6-0 7-6 (5) loss.

Like many times before, Djokovic is finding his game and form just before the start of a Grand Slam tournament. "Djokovic is like a Formula 1 car: every small detail can disrupt his rhythm. He makes sure every single thing that he does is reaching as close to perfection as possible," Tsitsipas said, per Lorenzo Ercoli.

Tsitsipas names Djokovic a French Open favorite

When asked about French Open favorites, Tsitsipas listed Djokovic and Carlos Alcaraz as the top favorites.

Tsitsipas has had a good clay season and he admitted that he is hoping to do well at the French Open and potentially win his first Grand Slam title. "Too many names. Rights now Carlos Alcaraz or Novak Djokovic, I would put them as favorites for Roland Garros.

I hope I do with my hard work by the time Roland Garros begins. I'd love myself to get around with these players and be there with them," Tsitsipas said.

Last year, Tsitsipas made his maiden Grand Slam final at the French Open.

Tsitsipas was just a set away from winning his first Grand Slam but Djokovic recovered from two sets down to beat the Greek in the 2021 French Open final. It remains to be seen how far can Tsitsipas go at the French Open this year.
