Andreea Prisacariu: I have no words to describe my champion, No. 1 Novak Djokovic

Romanian tennis player Andreea Prisacariu, 22, acknowledged Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal are true legends of the game but added it is Novak Djokovic who will always be the No. 1 for her. 310th-ranked Prisacariu, who is mainly playing the lower-level events, says Djokovic has always been a great source of inspiration for her as she is hoping to elevate her game to another level and establish herself on the WTA Tour.

"I have said that many times, I love Novak Djokovic with all my heart. He inspires me every day. He is my champion, my number one. I grew up watching him. He is a living legend. I have no words to describe him, except to say that I love him and that he is the best.

In our sport, there are also Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer who are champions and legends, but for me Novak is ahead of everyone because of the way he entertains and connects with the audience. It is something unique for me and he will always have my support, even if he doesn't know it or doesn't know me," Prisacariu told

Prisacariu admires Djokovic but also other Serbian athletes

Growing up, Prisacariu also admired Viktor Troicki, Janko Tipsarevic and Ana Ivanovic. All of three players mentioned above are retired now, but Prisacariu still remembers them well and the time when she was enjoying watching them play.

"I love Viktor Troicki, he was a great player. I am glad that he became a coach, I heard a lot of nice things about him. I also appreciate Tipsarevic, we all love Ana Ivanovic, of course. She was number one, a true champion.

I've always loved her game," Prisacariu added. This year, Prisacariu had a chance to play top-ranked Iga Swiatek at the Billie Jean King Cup. Swiatek handed Prisacariu a 6-0 6-0, and even though the Romanian stood no chance versus the Pole, she was that she had a chance to play such a big name.
