'Novak Djokovic is among the best ever on...', says ATP ace

World No. 12 Cameron Norrie admits that coming to Wimbledon as the top-ranked British players brings a certain level of pressure, but adds that he is up for the challenge. Norrie, 26, enjoyed the best season of his career last year and is now aiming to take his game to another level and win a Grand Slam and reach the top spot.

Norrie, who broke into the top 10 for the first time in his career in April, has played at Wimbledon four times and his best result at the tournament was his third-round result last year. "I think you accept the pressure of being British number one.

- I would take my progress over the last two years," Norrie told Eurosport's Players' Voice. "Coming back this year as British No. 1 is exactly where I want to be. Obviously, it would have been nice to be a little higher in the world rankings, but I have a lot to improve on my game and I am really enjoying the challenge of everything and the grass.

I really like grass now. I feel like I had a decent season last year and that gave me a lot of confidence. I haven't played much on it in my career so I'm still learning and it's all pretty new to me but it's really exciting." Medvedev, who lifted his first Grand Slam title at the US Open last year, reached the top spot for the first time in his career in late February.

Medvedev lost the top position in the ranking in March, but returned to the top spot this month. Norrie feels there are similarities between his game and Medvedev's, as he says he doesn't see a reason why he can't get to the top position.

Novak Djokovic is one match win at Wimbledon away from reaching 80 wins across all four Majors.

Nole lost only one final in London

In an interview with Spanish media outlet Dairio de Mallorca, Medvedev picked Novak Djokovic as one of the best players in the history of the game on grass.

“Novak is always the favourite. He has won the last three Wimbledons that have been played. He plays very well on grass. If we talk about the best players in history on grass, I would place him at the top, although I have not seen Borg or Sampras play”.

The 26-year-old Russian added, “From my generation, Federer and Djokovic are the best. Of course, Nadal can win any tournament he plays in and Berrettini is playing at a high level. Speaking of favourites, Djokovic, Berrettini and Nadal”.

Nadal won the Australian Open and Roland Garros this season, whereas Matteo Berrettini recently won the Boss Open and the Queen's Club Championship.
