It has been a tough year with everything that happened, obviously, in Australia for me and for the people who are close in my life. This came as a great new year present, I think, and I am looking forward to going to Australia and hopefully having another successful Australian Open, that has been historically my most successful Grand Slam.
I had some of my best memories on that court. Hopefully, I can make more positive memories there," Djokovic told Eurosport. Djokovic is a 21-time Grand Slam champion and the Australian Open has been his most successful Major.
At Melbourne Park, Djokovic is a record nine-time Australian Open champion. Before Djokovic was denied participation at this year's Australian Open, he won the opening Grand Slam of the season in three consecutive years.
Now that Djokovic is returning to Australia, he will certainly be very determined to win a record 10th Australian Open title. Throughout the year, Djokovic was speaking positively of Australia as he said several times that this year's negative experience can't beat all of the positive memories he has had in Australia throughout his career.
