Taylor Fritz stat that might worry Novak Djokovic

Taylor Fritz says he is well aware of the stat which states that he is winning the tournament in 2022 every time he reaches the semifinal. In 2022, Fritz has three titles - Indian Wells, Eastbourne and Tokyo. Now, Fritz is set to meet Novak Djokovic in the semifinal at the ATP Finals.

When Fritz meets Djokovic, he will be hoping to improve to 4-0 in his semifinals in 2022. "Yes I knew that," Fritz said of the stat.

Fritz on playing Djokovic

Fritz, 25, hasn't had much success against Djokovic so far in his career as the Serb leads their head-to-hea.d “It's a great opportunity.

I look forward to playing Novak. Obviously he's one of the best if not the best. He's done pretty well here in the past. I'm super excited for the opportunity,” Fritz said. This week in Turin, Fritz has been exceptional on his serve.

The court in Turin is extremely fast and the big-serving Fritz is using it to his advantage. “I think it helps a lot the people that maybe don't get as many free points on their serve. I played Rafa, but I practiced with Rafa the first day I was here.

We played a practice set and I think I won three points returning his serve in the set. That's not normal that Rafa is acing me three times a game. I think it is very important in terms of, like, if you play a bad game, you get broken, you're probably going to lose the set.

That's just how it is. You can't afford to have throwaway games on the serve. I think that was probably my biggest issue against Casper a couple of days ago. The first game I served. I kind of just gave it to him. You can't do that," Fritz explained. It remains to be seen if Fritz can upset Djokovic in Turin.
