Novak Djokovic goes hiking ahead of return to Australia

Jelena Djokovic took to Instagram to reveal that she and Novak Djokovic went on a hiking expedition in the La Concha mountains, Malaga, Spain. Djokovic, who finished his 2022 season by capturing a record-tying sixth ATP Finals title, is staying in shape this offseason as he is preparing to make his Australia return in January.

Through her Instagram account, Jelena revealed she and her husband went on a hiking trip with Marko Djokovic and Spanish pro tennis player Carlos Gomez Herrera. "Another summit (successfully completed). Ps. We followed the path of a goat," Jelena captioned her Instagram post.

Djokovic on the importance of his family

In Turin, Djokovic had his wife and two kids with him.

Being accompanied by his family certainly helped Djokovic as the Serb ended up winning his first ATP Finals title since 2015. After winning his sixth ATP Finals title to tie Roger Federer's all-time record at the prestigious season-ending tournament, Djokovic opened up on how having his family helped him in Turin.

“Extremely special for me. I'm very grateful to my wife and my children for coming. I don't get to have these moments on the tour with them so much, so I of course try to enjoy it as much as I possibly can. Of course, they make my life on the tour easier.

The pressures, the expectations, the tensions that you normally go through on a big tournament like this, when they're around, it lowers a bit so I can have that time off, quality time with my family. That really soothes me and gives me serenity in order to recalibrate and play my best tennis the next day.

I don't know how many tournaments more I'm going to get this opportunity have them all. I cherish these moments a lot. Hopefully, as (the kids) grow older, they'll realize even more what special moments we're living together," Djokovic said after winning the ATP Finals.
