The strained relations between Serbia and Kosovo gave rise to a rather puzzling episode some days ago. The mural dedicated to Novak Djokovic and exhibited in Orahovac in March 2022, was in fact defaced by some individuals not yet identified.
The director of the Serbian Government Office for Kosovo, Petar Petkovic, explained: "Kurti's hooligans destroyed a mural dedicated to our Novak Djokovic in Orahovac at night. The hatred of extremists will never be able to destroy the successes of the Serbian champion, best tennis player in the world, nor his love for Kosovo." The mural painted last year was part of a project carried out by one of the largest Serbian communities in Kosovo.
In recent months, as disagreements have grown, Serbia and Kosovo have been invited by the EU and the US to reach an agreement to normalize their political and civil relations. Djokovic has not yet exposed himself on the matter and it is not clear whether he intends to do so.

Novak Djokovic training for upcoming tournaments
The Serbian champion is currently training in Marbella, Spain, where he joined his wife and children following his Melbourne title defeating Stefanos Tsitsipas in the final.
There are several fans who have reached Djokovic and published some photos in his company on their respective social networks. Novak Djokovic spent his 375th week at the top of the world rankings and came even closer to Steffi Graff's all-time tennis record of 377.
The Serbian will have to hold his position for another three weeks to accomplish one of his biggest goals. Nole should return to the court at the ATP 500 tournament in Dubai. Everything, however, will depend on his physical condition.
Djokovic regained first place in the ATP rankings thanks to his tenth success at the Australian Open; success that allowed him to win the 22nd Major and hook Rafael Nadal in the fight for the Grand Slam record.
