Greg Rusedski declared Novak Djokovic's win over Carlos Alcaraz in the Cincinnati final as the Serb's "best comeback ever." In the Cincinnati final, Djokovic appeared to be on the verge of losing when Alcaraz had a 7-5 4-2 lead.
After Djokovic suffered a heat stroke, blew a 4-2 lead in the first set and found himself down by a set and a break in the second set, Rusedski didn't think the Serb would be able to come back and win. But Djokovic overcame physical issues, as well as his struggles on the court, to stage an epic 5-7 7-6 (7) 7-6 (4) comeback win after saving a match point in three hours and 49 minutes.
"Best comeback ever from Novak. Didn’t see him turn this around after a set and a break down in 2nd set, suffering from heat stroke. What a champion, what a performance. How did he turn it around?" Rusedski wrote.

Rusedski hails Djokovic's Cincinnati win as his 'best comeback ever'
The Cincinnati final between Djokovic and Alcaraz went down as the longest ATP final in tennis history.
After Djokovic saved a match point in the second-set tie-break, he also had a 5-3 lead in the third set. But just when it seemed Djokovic would close out the match, Alcaraz saved four match points over the next two games. However, Djokovic was able to mentally move on from blowing four match points and convert his fifth in the third-set tie-break.
"It's tough to describe. It was the toughest I've ever played in my life. From start to finish we both went through highs, lows, incredible points, bad games, heatstroke, comebacks. Overall this was the toughest and most exciting match I've ever been a part of.
It's matches like these that I continue to work for," Djokovic said after creating a stunning comeback in the Cincinnati final.
