Stefanos Tsitsipas says Novak Djokovic is "definitely the best" if the numbers are the defining criteria in the GOAT debate. Djokovic owns a record 24 Grand Slams in men's tennis - he has spent the most weeks at the world No 1 ranking by male or female - he is now one Slam title away from surpassing Margaret Court's 24 Slams and becoming the first player in tennis with 25 Majors. "If we go by the numbers, he's definitely the best.

He breaks one record after another. That's his character. He's never happy, it's like he's always trying to prove something to someone. I don't know what and to whom. It's like he wants revenge. His eye shines," Tsitsipas told Kathimerini.

Tsitsipas says Djokovic 'breaks one record after another'

Most recently, Djokovic won his 24th Grand Slam title at the US Open. In his press conference after the match, Djokovic confirmed he wants more titles but insisted he is not chasing a specific Slam number.

“I don’t put any number right now in my mind on how many slams I want to win until the end of my career. I don’t really have any number. I’ll continue to prioritize them as my most important tournaments and where I want to play the best tennis.

So that will not change. That will stay the same in the next season or I don’t know how many more seasons I have in my legs. So let’s see," Djokovic said. Djokovic, who made all four Grand Slam finals this year, has no reason to think about retirement just yet.

“I feel good in my own body. I still feel I got the support of my environment, of my team, of my family. Knowing that I play at such a high level still and I win the biggest tournaments in this sport, I don’t want to leave this sport if I’m still at the top, you know, if I’m still playing the way I’m playing," Djokovic said.
