Novak Djokovic will team up with fellow Serb Miomir Kecmanovic for the Paris Masters doubles event. Djokovic, ranked at No 1 in the world, hasn't played in a tournament since winning the US Open. In less than two weeks, Djokovic will be making his return when the Paris Masters starts on October 30th.

Considering that Djokovic will have gone a month and a half without an official match, it shouldn't be surprising that the Serb also plans to play in the Paris doubles event and get some additional action. Djokovic rarely plays doubles as Paris will be his third ATP event this year where he has also played in doubles.

In Paris, Djokovic and 24-year-old Kecmanovic will be making their debut as a duo.

Djokovic acknowledged he may need some time to get himself going

Djokovic may have been out of action for the past couple of weeks but it doesn't mean that he hasn't been practicing hard.

Last week, Djokovic acknowledged to Serbian media that he may need some time to find his rhythm and game when he returns to action in Paris. "Preparations are underway for the final part of the season, I have three tournaments left to play.

I'm looking forward to the challenges, I'm still in the race to finish No 1, with Alcaraz in that fight, there are still a few weeks, just enough to bring my game to the targeted level. Probably, that five-week break will affect the beginning a little, I hope that I will be able to overcome it as soon as possible and reach the targeted level and quality of competitive tennis very soon.

Expectations are high, I had a lot of success in Bercy and I expect nothing less this year. My biggest wish is to win the Davis Cup, I hope we will be healthy and fit and I hope I can finish the year as number one and win at least one more title," Djokovic said. It remains to be seen how well can Djokovic do in Paris, where he made the final last year.
