Coach Viktor Troicki has revealed that Novak Djokovic invited Hamad Medjedovic for an offseason training block in Dubai. Medjedovic, who won the Next Gen ATP Finals title in Jeddah last week, practiced for years at Djokovic's tennis center in Belgrade and he is also mentored by the Serbian tennis icon.

After concluding his 2023 season in a very impressive way, world No 113 Medjedovic is currently resting. After the rest, the 20-year-old will go to Dubai, where he will do some work with world No 1 Djokovic. Then, Medjedovic and Djokovic will together fly to Australia to represent Serbia at the United Cup. “I am sure that the time spent with Novak will mean a lot to Hamad,” Troicki told Tennis Majors.

“I can’t wait for the next season to start,” Medjedovic said. In 2023, Medjedovic continued his rise as he won three Challenger titles before winning the biggest one at the Next Gen ATP Finals.

Also this year, Medjedovic achieved a career-high ranking of No 102 in the world. In 2024, Medjedovic will be looking to further elevate his game. Troicki, a former world No 12 who serves as Medjedovic's coach, has an idea of how the 20-year-old's game could be improved ahead of the 2024 season.

“Our main emphasis during the offseason will be to make him physically ready, so that he can endure tough matches day in, day out. Also, we will work on keeping his cool in the key moments. Tennis-wise, I don’t see a lot of weaknesses in his game, but we would like to improve his rally tolerance – I don’t want him to rush, I want him to wait for the right opportunity to use the immense power on his shots," Troicki said. Medjedovic finished the 2023 season on a high note and he will certainly enter the new season full of confidence.
