Romanian tennis player Andreea Prisacariu applauded Novak Djokovic for publicly revealing his true feelings after his coach Goran Ivanisevic missed out on the ATP Coach of the Year award. After the ATP announced that Jannik Sinner's coaches Darren Cahill and Simone Vagnozzi won the 2023 ATP Coach Player of the Year award, Djokovic - who made all four Grand Slam finals this year and won three Slams - made it clear he felt that coach Ivanisevic was the one who should have won the award.

The ATP Coach of the Year is voted for by ATP coaches.“Congratulations to Darren and Simone for a great season with Jannik. Goran, I guess we need to win 4/4 Slams in order for you to maybe (just maybe) be considered coach of the year.

Winning Year End #1, 3 GS [Grand Slams] and the World Tour Finals and making history of this sport is not enough, my dear coach," Djokovic wrote on his Instagram Story after Ivanisevic missed out on the Coach of the Year award.

After reading about Djokovic's reaction, Prisacariu wrote on X: "This is why he is unique. The way he is not afraid to say the obvious facts. The way he communicates with us, his comunity of people that love and support him.

This is why he is the best of the best. Because he says and does things that no one else would even dare."

In another post, Prisacariu wrote: "We all know he is the coach of the year in reality ofc (of course)." In 2023, Djokovic broke some of the biggest records of the game and he also finished as the top-ranked player in the world.

On the other side, Sinner won his first two Masters titles - led Italy to their first Davis Cup title since 1976 - and also achieved a career-high ranking of No 4 in the world. Sinner evidently improved his game to another level in 2023 but Djokovic undoubtedly had a more successful season.
