Top-ranked Chinese female tennis player Zheng Qinwen jokingly begged Novak Djokovic not to leave the press room before giving her an autograph after the Serb crashed China's United Cup team press conference in Perth.

Zheng, who is enjoying a career-high ranking of No. 15 in the world, defeated reigning Wimbledon champion Marketa Vondrousova 6-1 2-6 6-1 in the opening match of the China and Czech Republic tie. In the next match, Zhang Zhizhan beat Jiri Lehecka in straight sets.

Then, Zheng and Zhang beat Vondrousova and Lehecka 6-1 6-2 to seal China's win over the Czech Republic in Group E. After getting China to a winning start, Zheng and Zhang came to the press room to speak with reporters.

In a video posted on X, Djokovic can be seen crashing China's presser and saying in Chinese: "Thank you, all." When Zheng turned around and saw who crashed their presser, she delivered a hilarious reaction. "Idol! Please don't go! I haven't got your signature yet!" Zheng could be heard telling Djokovic while bursting into laughter.

Zheng clinches two wins for China against the Czech Republic

Going into the match against world No. 7 Vondrousova, Zheng knew she would not have an easy job. But Zheng delivered a big performance to beat Vonrousova and get China off to a very positive start.

Zheng got off to a very impressive start against Vondrousova, winning the first five games. Zheng missed out on two set points in the sixth game but routinely served out for the first set in the seventh game.

After easily winning the first set, Zheng also broke Vondrousova in the first game of the second set. Down by a set and a break, Vondrousova impressively responded as she won six of the next seven games to overturn the deficit and force a decider.

However, losing the second set didn't impact Zheng much, who broke Vondrousova in the first, fifth and seventh games en route to completing a three-set win. Later, Zheng also delivered a great performance in a mixed doubles match with Zhang.
