On the media day on the eve of his 2nd round at the ATP 250 tournament in Geneva (he will play today, in a few minutes - ed.), Novak Djokovic talked about many issues, including the injuries that are affecting Rafael Nadal in the last phase of his career, but also on his expectations in tennis. Nole hopes to still be in a good physical form as he doesn't feel retirement is near.

"I am sad for all the injuries that Nadal has suffered and I feel lucky if I look at my career. I hope to stay in form for a little while longer, because I love this sport and I don't feel like retiring. I know I haven't I've started the season well, I'll try to find the right sensations again," said Djokovic, still underlining his love for the sport that made him so famous.

After his elimination at the ATP Masters 1000 in Rome, the Serbian decided to accept the wild card offered to him by the organizers of the Gonet Geneva Open and, as I said at the beginning of the article, in a few hours he will challenge Yannick Hanfmann. One of the aspects taken into consideration in the speeches relating to Novak Djokovic's negative moment is that which refers to the motivational factor. The Serbian did not appear as motivated as on many other occasions at the start of the season and some media have also speculated about a possible retirement at the end of the current season.

During his time in Australia, at the beginning of the season for the first Slam of the year, Djokovic participated at an episode of Nick Kyrgios' Good Trouble podcast, exposing this internal conflict between the child and adult Novak.

"The Little Novak, the four-year-old Novak, who started playing tennis in Kopaonik in Serbia, still loves this sport and is still hungry. But, at the same time, there is that more mature Novak, father and husband who he says there are other things in life. I miss my children a lot," said Nole.
