Novak Djokovic wanted to pay homage to the spectators who remained on the Philippe-Chatrier during the Parisian night, after his incredible victory against the Italian Lorenzo Musetti, in the 3rd round of the Roland Garros. The Serbian champion spent a few minutes with some of his fans, hugging a child present with his family to watch the match between the Serbian and the Italian.

The child encouraged Djokovic until the last point, always believing in victory. Djokovic joined him in the Chatrier stands and hugged him to thank him. A gesture that moved everyone present.

"Hello everyone. I will try to speak in French because you all deserve it. You deserve a big thank you, you gave me great energy when I was down in the third set. It's incredible that you stayed until the end. It's impossible go to sleep with all this adrenaline. If there's a party you're going to this evening, I'll come with you. Big compliments to Musetti, I even scored him at the end of the match,"  said Djokovic at the end of the match won in the fifth set.

Djokovic will come back to the court in a few hours - today Monday 3 May 2024 - and will challenge Francisco Cerundolo for a place in the quarterfinals of the Roland Garros.

"It was the most intense challenge of my life and he showed why he is a legend, the immortal champion of this sport. Since he broke me in the fourth, things have changed, which is a shame because the match had gone well and at a certain point we I believed. I felt like I was master of the field; then from that break it's as if he took off the chains and started playing at an incredible level. Tonight the best won, I have few regrets and my team is also very satisfied. Today all that was really missing was the victory," said Musetti at the end of the match, praising the Serbian champion.
