His presence was in the balance until the last second and in the end he made it. Novak Djokovic, despite a difficult operation carried out just 20 days ago, will be at Wimbledon and will take part in the London tournament.

The Serbian who reached the final last year is still looking for the first Slam of the season, his 25th Grand Slam tournament. In short, a great career and Djokovic can test his condition with a fairly simple start, the first three rounds should not present any major problems.

Nole will debut in the first round against the Czech qualifier Kopriva and eventually face the winner between the British wildcard Fearnley and the Spanish Moro Canas. In the third round the head of the series that Djokovic could fish is the Argentine Etcheverry, certainly not an expert of the surface and therefore eye to our Luca Nardi and especially to the Australian Alexei Popyrin, hard obstacle in some days.

Patrick McEnroe on Novak Djokovic's future

First real hard commitments in the Round of 16 where Novak Djokovic could catch one between the Russian Karen Khachanov and the Norwegian Holger Rune with the latter at least on the favorite card. In the quarter-finals Djokovic has caught the worst opponent among the seeded and that is the Polish Hubert Hurkacz, tennis player who has already beaten in the past but is always very treacherous on grass.

Very obviously it will depend on the physical condition of the Belgrade champion and will certainly help the fact that the first engagements do not see very hard obstacles. Eventually Djokovic should face one between Alexander Zverev, Andrey Rublev or even Taylor Fritz in the semifinals but watch out for surprises like the American Sebastian Korda or Jack Draper, last winner in Stuttgart.

Then the final, a dream for Djokovic seen as he arrived at the tournament but a match where he could take revenge both with Alcaraz and eventually against Jannik Sinner.

Speaking on ESPN, Patrick McEnroe opened up on Djokovic’s future: “I think Djokovic, to me, I actually said at the beginning of the year, people thought I was crazy, maybe I am, but I didn’t think Djokovic was going to win a major this year for a variety of reasons.”
