Nick Kyrgios has issued a massively positive update as the Australian reveals he is having a good week of practice at Wimbledon and also shared that Novak Djokovic told him after their practice that he "could not tell" that he had surgery.

After Kyrgios arrived at Wimbledon to work as a commentator for the BBC, he said he would use his time at The All England Club to practice with some players and see where he was at 10 months after his wrist surgery.

And on Friday, 29-year-old Kyrgios met on the practice court with seven-time Wimbledon champion Djokovic, who defeated him in the 2022 final at The Championships.

"Nearly 10 months since my brutal wrist surgery... First real test today and it almost brought me to tears the fact that I’ve been able to get back to this level - There were periods that maybe it wasn’t meant to be - Novak told me today that he couldn’t tell that I’d had the surgery... My team and I had to reflect on all the moments when stuff got hard... We keep going," Kyrgios wrote on his Instagram Story.

What's Kyrgios' plan?

Last weekend, Kyrgios also gave an official comeback timeline as the eight-time ATP champion plans to come back in the next month by taking part in a doubles tournament before returning to singles.

“I’ll be playing doubles in the next month (on the ATP Tour). It will be exciting. I’ll probably start there and hopefully, if everything is OK, I’ll move to singles and then I’ll see how long I’ll hang around for," Kyrgios said in an interview with the UTS just before the start of Wimbledon.

“I missed competing, I missed hearing the crowd, my fans. Even the people that hate me, I miss them, I miss them all. I can’t wait to be back.”

After a career-best season in 2022, Kyrgios had knee surgery in 2023 January. Just after returning to tennis in June last year, Kyrgios suffered a wrist injury and had another surgery and hasn't played since.

Kyrgios' comeback will likely start in one of the first tournaments during the North American hard court swing.
