Novak Djokovic is Not Getting Complacent: Despite Being Favorite in Montreal- View: 2472 by Ammad Raja
As the first of hard court events gets set to begin in Montreal, Novak Djokovic has been picked without a doubt as the favorite to lift the Rogers Cup as he comes in fresh from his Wimbledon triumph and being the top seed.
The Serbian has lost only 3 matches in the entire season and has been the favorite for every tournament and the World No 1 has not disappointed as he has won 2 out of 3 grand slams played so far. However, despite all the good form and the multiple trophies that he has collected this year, the Serbian is not letting it all get to his head as he spoke to the media at the draws ceremony and revealed that he will not taking anything for granted.
“I’m coming in here with the same mindset as a lot of other players. I’m hoping to do well, but it’s never easy.” This will be the fifth year running, the Serbian has entered the Rogers Cup as the top seed and has won the event twice in that span.
And as he goes in to the hard court season, he will be looking to complete the year on a high. And as the Serbian himself believes that this is the best season he has had since 2011, there can be no denying that Djokovic is going to come in ready to play to the best of his potential.
