Again some physical issues for Novak Djokovic. During the Indian Wells event, the World No. 2 felt a right elbow injury that has been hurting him since last June after Roland Garros. Just after the loss to Nick Kyrgios last Wednesday, the Serbian player cameback to Europe, in Monte Carlo, in order to visit his doctor.
At the moment his presence in the second Masters 1000 tournament of the year, Miami, where he should play his first match on Friday or Saturday, is uncertain. In the next days Djokovic will have to give an answer: withdrawing, he would lose 1,000 ATP Points as he is the defending champion.
If it happens and Andy Murray wins the title in Florida, the British player would have 5,000 points more than his rival before the clay-courts season. But it's clear, now the rankings is not the priority for Djokovic, who played just three tournaments this year so far: Doha, Australian Open and Indian Wells.
