In the last months Novak Djokovic has chosen to completely change his team again. The splits with Andre Agassi and Radek Stepanek have obviously been the most popular one, but the Serbian is not working anymore with the Italian fitness trainer Marco Panichi, and the physioterapist Ulyses Badio.
Djokovic has chosen to co-operate again with his long-time fitness trainer Gebhard Gritsch, who had worked with him from 2009 to 2017. Gritsch was one of the three members besides coach Marian Vajda and physio Milan Amanovic to have been fired by Djokovic 12 months ago.
According to the Serbian website Novosti, Vajda encouraged Nole to hear a fitness trainer again after seeing him not in a good shape in the first days of practice sessions together in Marbella. There wasn't much time to think about who chooses, Gritsch was the most immediate option and he answered Djokovic's call straightaway.
'He can always count on my help', Gritsch had said a few weeks ago. The rumours were confirmed on Wednesday when besides Vajda, Pepe Imaz and Marko Djokovic, Novak's brother, there was just Gritsch at the Barcelona Open.
