Novak Djokovic went through some very emotional moments on Sunday after his straight set Wimbledon final win over the South African Kevin Anderson, beaten 6-2 6-2 7-6 after two hours.
Djokovic started his on-court interview speaking about his son Stefan who appeared on the grounds looking to be so happy for his dad: 'He was by far the best sparring partner I had in the last couple of weeks. He's under five years old so he couldn't watch the matches live but we hoped that if this happened, I could hold the trophy then he could be there. I'm very emotional. It feels amazing because for the first time in my life I have someone screaming "daddy, daddy!', said Djokovic.
The 13-time Grand Slam winner then met his wife Jelena and Stefan off-court a few minutes after being congratulated by Duke and Duchess of Cambridge William and Kate, tennis legends like Manolo Santana or Rod Laver.
Djokovic will now take a rest, he is expected to compete again during the North American hard-court season in Toronto, Cincinnati and US Open. Here below Djokovic hugging his son for a few seconds.
Djokovic also has a daughter, Tara, who was born in September last year. Just on Saturday Jelena was making a comparison between her pregnancy and the Serena Williams's, praising the American for her effort to be at the top of the game again. Djokovic had started the grass-court season reaching Queen's final, where he lost to the Croatian Marin Cilic in three sets after wasting a match point.
