Serena Williams would flog Novak Djokovic in competitive match, says Jones

Leisel Jones believes that female tennis players would be able to show competitive tennis against male players. Jones made an example involving Serena Williams and Novak Djokovic. "It is a big cultural thing", the swimming star said.

"People say it is about males and males watching sport but it is a huge cultural thing that we need to change. Females are just as good at sport as men are - if not better. We can go back to Serena Williams. If you put Novak Djokovic next to her, I think Serena Williams would flog him every single day over.'

The Russian Tennis Federation member Andrey Cheskonov praised Daniil Medvedev's performance against Novak Djokovic in the Australian Open fourth round. The 22-year-old lost in four sets, 6-4 6-7 (5) 6-2 6-3 after two hours and a half.

As quoted by Championat, Cheskonov said: 'Watching this match, we can conclude that Medvedev has a lot to add. In the first two sets, he almost gave everything of itself. Winning the second set, he gave himself all the chances he had.

It was a good match, both fought for the win. Would Daniel have done better against another opponent? If Medvedev went beyond, he would have faced Kei Nishikori, who is very tired. I have no idea how he will recover for the next match.'
