Novak Djokovic: 'Shapovalov, Auger-Aliassime want to reach new heights'

In an interview, Novak Djokovic commented on the young Canadians Felix Auger-Aliassime and Denis Shapovalov's potential. The Serbian player said: "Both of them are up and coming rising stars, they are extremely talented players but what I like most about them is their dedication, their commitment to the game, they are already matured a lot for their age, they have got a great team of people around them, that surely helps but also it seems like they are very motivated to reach the highest heights of tennis.

They are still very young but they are already pushing their rankings quite high. I wish them all the best. I have played Denis a couple of times, I have not played with Felix but I have trained with him quite often and they have left very positive impressions on me as young people but also as tennis players.

So only good things about them." In an interview, the six-time Major winner Boris Becker commented on the concept of competition in tennis. The German said: "Players are competitors and you cannot tell me that Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal are best friends or Novak Djokovic.

But they speak nicely about each other, they like each other. The young generation maybe is a bit different, Nick Kyrgios takes them all over. I wish he would win a bit more. Roger is classy, intelligent, good looking, he gives interviews in five different languages, that's a role model, everybody wants to emulate that.

But I do not want to be another Roger Federer. The next one will be different and everybody wants to be like that leader. Rafa is a bit different, he is good looking, intelligent but much more aggressive on the court, he attracts a different audience. Djokovic is different too, he is the war from Serbia. But everyone wanted to like Federer and speak like him."
