Dusan Lajovic speaks about relationship with Novak Djokovic

Dusan Lajovic spoke about his relationship with his compatriot Novak Djokovic. Lajovic said: "Yeah, I have a relationship with all the Serbian players. I think it's a close one, because we all feel like not part of a team, but also playing for Serbia in Davis Cup brings us closer.

And we all have good relations between each other. As I'm the youngest, they always give me a lot of advices, and look up to me and show me the way." On the doubles title he won with Caci, Lajovic added: "We didn’t know that we were going to get it.

We were the last pair to sign up. My partner flew in the last moment, he came here on Sunday. It was our third time playing together in ATP event and we didn’t expect much but we knew that we can play good tennis. We had a tough draw from the first round and played some of the most experienced doubles players on tour.

It was not easy but we really showed that the quality is there. It was nice to win a title here in Chengdu. We played really good today. We lost focus in the beginning of the second set and it changed quickly. We had to get into the decider but in the super tiebreak, we were really aggressive and focused from the first point.

We only made like one unforced error. Overall it was a really great week. As I said before. We know each other since we were young, we’re best friends. Sharing the court is a special thing and playing with your best friend..I was really happy to play today and win it.

I have these emotions because usually I am playing singles and Nikola focuses on doubles now. I am usually alone. Win or lose, you are on your own as an individual. Now as a team, it wouldn’t even matter if you’ve lost earlier this week. We share everything together and that is what makes it more special."
